RIBOFLAVIN FOR MIGRAINE HEADACHE RELIEF  

Migraine:

Migraine is a severe recurring headache,usually affecting only one side of the head and accompanied by nausea, visual disturbances and vomiting.

Migraine headache:

Migraine headache is a form of vascular headache. Migraine attacks commonly activate the sympathetic nervous system in the body. Migraine headaches are common health problem. Migraine attacks by stress, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies and neuroendocrine imbalances.

Types of migraine:-

Classic migraine:

Migraine headache with aura, “aura” means paresthesias, loss of vision . Migraine with aura may be the first sign of Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy.

Common migraine:

Migraine headache without aura called common migraine. 80% of migraine include in this type.

Vertebrobasilar migraine:

Migraine with vertigo known as vertebrobasilar migraine. Duration of vertigo with 31% of individuals having spells lasted a few minutes to 2 hours. Motor intolerance, with or without nausea and vomiting are Symptoms of vertigo.

Complicated migraine:

Complicated migraines are rare. It is accompanied by a neurological deficiency. Persons with antiphospholipid antinbodies are at increased risk of stroke. Long term treatment is suggested in patients with this syndrome after stroke.

 

Acephalgic migraine: Headache without aura is called Acephalgic migraine. Acephalgic migraine are generally thought to occur only about 1% of the time, but this is a hard number to pin down.

Ophthalmoplegic migraine:

Patients with double vision are including in this category. Third nerve palsy with headache is called Ophthalmoplegic migraine.

Causes of migraine:

Migraines are caused by trigger factors as sleep disturbance, certain foods, stress, hormonal fluctuations etc. It’s generally caused by chemical abnormality in the brain due to a combination of familiar tendency.Bacterial infection , Heliconbacter pylori are also causes of migraine. Migraine does not appear to be related to allergy or immune disturbances.

Ribolavin  

RIBOFLAVIN means vitamin B2, it is also known as lactoflavin. Sources of riboflavin are milk, egg yolks, leafy vegetables and fresh meat. Vitamin B2 is a water-soluble vitamin, one that cannot be stored by the body except in insignificant amounts. It must be replenished daily.

RIBOFLAVIN FOR MIGRAINE HEADACHE RELIEF:

Small amounts of riboflavin may reduce the severity and frequency of migraines.

Fifty-two people suffering from recurrent migraines participated in the three-month study. They were randomly assigned to receive either a daily combination of riboflavin (400 mg), magnesium (300 mg), and the herb feverfew (100 mg), or 25 mg of riboflavin per day. The aver age headache severity and the number of days with tension headaches decreased significantly in the low-dose-riboflavin group.
