Headache remedies

1: Aromatherapy

This is the most powerful of all the remedies. It is different for everyone, because everyone has a different association for a different smell. Although, there are some aromas that are definite headache killers, such as: peppermint, sandlewood, lavender, eucalyptus. Also try using essential oils, candles, or soaps.

Be warned- Some companies sell cheap products which can make some headaches worse, so go with the quality products you know that will work, even if it does cost more.

Also try this- Try making a compress by putting five drops of lavender essential oil in water, hot or cold. Move it around with a soft cloth, and then place it on your neck or head.

2: Exercise

Well, of course you know that regular exercise helps you cope with any type of pain. That includes headaches. This is more effective for migraines than headaches. Some people even find that just taking a brisk walk when you have a migraine has amazing results. Remember to ease into the exercise, because change can make the pain worse.

Try doing: A half-hour walk daily.

3: Massage

After the essential oils are all done, this is another wonderful thing you can do with them! The massage is very relaxing, which is just what you need with the killing pain in your head. Also, touch is considered to be one of, if not the, greatest healers.

Try: Have someone kneed across your shoulders and the back of your neck. Then, have them press on the back of your skull with their fingers, and slowly release them.

4: Hot and Cold

Try experimenting with each. Avoid the extremes of each temperature, however, because that will just make everything worse!

5: All that other stuff

Herbs and diet are always said to work. Feverfew is also supposed to work very well.

Also, a room with a humidifier works for some, but not others. Giving up smoking, if you are currently smoking, is a very good, but HARD, one. Also, waking up the same time every day helps a lot. Set your alarm clock!
